WHAT ARE VR STANDARDS?
VR Standards 2026 — the VR Adaptive Ergonomic Measurement System is a methodological textbook for planning, designing, building and inspecting homes and other interior spaces according to people’s real needs. It helps a citizen buying an apartment or building a private house understand what makes a space right, helps designers and architects turn the user’s needs into design decisions, and helps engineers and contractors check that those decisions are safe, measurable and buildable.
The core of the methodology is not to apply one dimension to everyone. A base value is assessed together with the user’s anthropometric and functional characteristics, the purpose of the room, how often it is used, safety, accessibility, building services and real-use testing. The book presents interior dimensions, the family and room programme, lighting, indoor air quality, heating and cooling, material documentation, risk management, audit of concealed works, handover and integration into teaching in a single methodological sequence.
Requirements in force in Azerbaijan, international and foreign practice, manufacturer data and the author’s VR values are not presented as having the same legal status. The book does not replace any official national or international standard; its purpose is to create a clear decision system that connects the status of each source, the design decision, the measurement, real use and audit evidence. The 2026 edition is presented as a baseline methodological version for scientific review, pilot application and future calibration.

The core philosophy of VR Standards is a human-centred approach.
